Definitions
  • Visitor: An individual who visits www.acorncloud.net or registers interest in AcornCloud.

  • Member: A childcare service that holds an account on the AcornCloud Early Years software platform.

  • End User: A parent, guardian, or staff member who uses an AcornCloud account created by a Member.

Information We Collect

AcornCloud collects information to provide a personalised service, improve your experience, fulfil service requirements, and maintain compliance with Early Years regulations. We collect information in three ways:
 a) Information you provide directly (Visitors, Members, End Users)
 b) Information collected automatically (cookies, logs)
 c) Information obtained from third parties.

Information You Provide
  • Conversations with AcornCloud – We may document and analyse interactions (email, phone, chat) with our sales and support teams to improve customer experience.

  • Member Account Sign-Up/Login – To create a service account we request details such as name, phone number, email, business name, and country. You set your own password; a unique, confidential reset link is provided if needed. After login, you complete the Service Profile (Funding, Rooms, Staff, Children, Parents, etc.) for effective operation of the platform.

  • End User Details – End Users invited by a Service may provide personal and sensitive data for children in their care or for staff records. This information is required for safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Forms and Surveys – We collect information when you subscribe to newsletters, register for events, request resources, contact support, complete surveys, or provide feedback.

  • Testimonials – With your consent, we may publish your testimonial, name, and related details. Contact legal@acorncloud.com to modify or remove a testimonial at any time.

    Information Collected Automatically
  • From Browsers, Devices, and Servers – IP address, browser type, language preference, time zone, referring URL, access times, operating system, device manufacturer, and network information.

  • Cookies & Tracking Technologies – Temporary and persistent cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts track site navigation, demographics, and campaign performance. We also use first-party Local Storage Objects (e.g., HTML5) for preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.
